9/8-SICK OUT day for school aged children!

Have you read any transcripts thus far as to the content or subject of Obama's Internet speech to the children? Do you have a child between PRE-K and 12th grade?
Well by authority of Obama, he wants to deliver an undisclosed speech to YOUR child AT SCHOOL on Sept 8th.

MY CHILD will be sick that day. Swine flu. It is going around...allergic to swines.
My child will NOT BE indoctrinated by BO.

Homeschooling kids do not have to worry about the indoctrination speech. Lucky for them. I wonder---is BO going to invade private schools? Do HIS children have to listen to him droll on and on about nothing. Oh wait. They live with him. I am sure he makes time to indoctrinate his own kids.

NOT MINE! As a PARENT, I CHOOSE what my child learns. If I am not satisfied with a text book offered by the school, I purchase another to teach my child the TRUTH, versus a watered down PC version of some liberal text. This happens often... I should home school....

"Teach your children well," indeed!

I have an open mind, I believe my children should hear ALL sides (not just our president's personal views), I want my children learning my own family values so would like to know what is going to be said so we can discuss it as a family at home after wards, I will also want to be in attendance should our school decide to air this ... I have written our school board, etc. to find out how they intend to handle this situation.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?? Any good rebuttles for our school boards should they not allow parental attendance or share what is going to be said?  Do they even know? They prep us with meetings and signature forms and...and...before sex-ed classes why not this? (and I support sex ed)  Interesting times for sure but haven't found them to be unbiased...not impressed with health care debates to date so why should this impress me?  Sell me on the idea Mr. President and tell me why my child should be subjected?  Why not an address to the Nation on TV as usual so we can sit with our kids and discuss in our homes as families?

College Roll Call - Does Your kids School Make the Grade for a Party School

Attention parents getting ready to send your kid off to campus next month?

I can't believe I am saying this but school for us is only 3 weeks away.  As I push my daughter to finish the 3 books she has to write reports on this summer before her AP courses start in a couple weeks, all she is concerned about is taking her driver's test.  She knows without grades she isn't using her cell phone to text let alone attempt to drive a car....but she persists none the less. 

As I worry about driving and high school, I realize that college is just around the corner and is closing on me quickly.  So today as I read the news I wonder, which school will she want to attend and what scares me the most is my own memories of new found freedom during my college years.  Yes, I survived and I did thrive and I made a little money in my career too BUT... as you send your kids off to college are you worried about them having a bigger reputation as a "Party School" rather than one known for their academics? 

Even with it's bathtubs full of "trashcan Kool-aid" or whatever gut rot was in it, my college was noted for it's educational opportunities should you so choose....

Who made the list this year of Top Party Schools? Well, the list of the nation's top party schools is out, and you might want to see if your student is headed off to one of them!  (rated by the Princeton Review)

After Penn State and Florida, the top five institutions on the party schools list were the University of Mississippi, the University of Georgia, and Ohio University-Athens.

An Unsolved Mystery

We would love to have you help spread the story of our struggles in MO to remove sexual predators from our streets.

This is our family's struggle but as we fight - one family after another approach us with their struggles and lack of support to prosecute sexual offenders - especially in St Louis. How many children are now victims of not only their abuser but of the legal system that was to protect them? One mother working in the system was just fired in April because she wanted to pursue the case of her nanny video taping her 2 & 4 yr old boys for use in child porn. had video evidence and DNA. They told her to get over it - she is no longer working because she wanted justice. Another father is still fighting 21 years later because nothing has changed within our system - new laws - no follow through or prosecution.

We have a witness, we have other victims who have come forward. We are not a high profile case like the ones Mr. Robert McCulloch chooses. Ones he chooses and then looses because the children are lying and he knows it before going in but it gets him TV time and no one ever hears the outcome (2 such cases since Jan have been that way). Here in Missouri - one woman was just released from jail because as a teen she killed her father due to years of abuse that was never stopped and she saw him harming her siblings and chose to stop it one way or another. A very sad ending to a story that should have had intervention. How many others like her just suffer on a daily basis?

We need to speak out - we need a change.

Letterman - Where is the Outrage or is this Tolerable?

an adult who is sexually attracted to young children.

The bruhaha of the week seems to be the lack of any genuine comedic talent of David Letterman and at first glance I figured that, as usual, his stand-up routine or his top ten list was just as idiotic as it was every time I have had the misfortune to see it.

I was wrong, this is worse.

This is what bothers me as I fight for people to "open their eyes" and realize the silent epidemic that is destroying the fabric of our families world wide.  Child Sexual Assault (CSA) is something that is taboo, something we don't want to talk about, something we pray never affects our families and when it does: many still turn a "blind eye" and put their head into the sand in disbelief and pretend it never happened.

As I fight to make people aware of the devastating effects of CSA, to bring a perpetrator who lives freely among us to justice - to find some punishment for his actions and years of abuse of multiple victims, Jokes like Letterman's are aired.  This is beyond "bad-taste".  It's this type of behavior that feeds on the beliefs of our society.  How is it that on one hand we can joke, and make laws that are hardly ever enforced while real families struggle with the destruction left in the wake of abuse?  (I can't tell you how many times my state representatives have said: I'm sorry your child was abused for 3 years but that's not my department or I can't help you or it's "all in the family" or...one excuse after another and then have the nerve to do TV ads and state speaches endorsing how much that are against child abuse and do everything in their power to help - the unfortunate list of survivors asking to join me in my fight for justice in our state is growing way too quickly for me to help because even as a group our voices are being ignored!) Again, statistics?  1 in 3 and 1 in 7 boys are abused - that is nothing to joke about.

I guess my point is - the type of behavior displayed by Letterman is so distasteful I truly can't put a feeling on it - no word is "good enough" to explain my anger at what was supposed to be humor ?  I honestly don't care if the joke was meant for Palin's older or younger daughter.  It is a pretty crappy joke to make about anyone's kid, no matter how much you disagree with the parents' politics (or mere existence, apparently).

Today:

In an e-mailed statement, the Republican governor said: “Laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/N.Y. entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands — that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.”

That's right: A state governor went to a baseball game with her underage daughter, and a national talk show host made a joke about the girl being sexually assaulted by one of the players.

I realize I'm just an inbred backwoods moron who can't abide by any criticism of Sarah Palin whatsoever, but is this really the precedent we want to set for our politicians and their families?

After all, Samson Obama, one of the president's many half-brothers, isn't allowed in the UK because he tried to assault a 13-year-old girl. Are we to impose the Letterman standard there? Is it okay to make a joke like this?

"How come the First Family never invites Uncle Samson to visit? Because whenever Sasha and Malia sit on his knee, it takes six Secret Service guys to pry them off!"

Or how about this?

"Joe Biden keeps saying he's not really sure where all that stimulus money is going. In other news, Ashley Biden's coke dealer just bought Luxembourg."

Hey, I didn't say they were good jokes. But are they really worse than what Letterman just got away with on national TV? If so, why?
